The short version: Bike Nights has no accounts and asks you for nothing. We don't know who you are, we don't track you, we don't use analytics or advertising, and we never ask for your location. There is no personal profile to delete because we never made one.
This policy explains what happens to data when you use the Bike Nights iPhone app. It is written to be read rather than to cover anyone's back, so if anything here is unclear please get in touch and we'll fix the wording.
The app downloads a list of bike nights and events from our database and draws them on a map. That involves three things worth naming honestly:
The app keeps a copy of the meets and events list on your device so it still works when you have no signal. That copy contains only the public listings — nothing about you. It is removed when you delete the app.
Bike Nights is aimed at adult motorcyclists and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information about anyone, of any age.
You have rights under UK data protection law to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In our case the honest answer is that we hold no personal data about you beyond the transient server logs described above, so there is normally nothing to hand over or erase. You're welcome to ask anyway — contact details are here — and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with our response.
A future version of Bike Nights is planned to add optional accounts, the ability to submit meets, and a rider assistance feature that would involve sharing your approximate location with other riders — but only if you switch it on. All of that processes real personal data, so this policy will be rewritten before any of it ships, and the app will ask for your consent at the time rather than relying on a policy update you never read. Nothing in the current version does any of it.
